M42 final gimp 2 re-process

This was a single 30sec exposure taken with the 200PDS back in 2011. Ok, slight focus issue (no focusing mask). But I used a un-modified 300d (no live view), hand focused and polar alignment slightly off. I did use a Skywatcher LPR filter. I only had a dual drive EQ5 also.

This just shows the capabilities of a Newtonian for imaging, and I'm no imager yet. Just about to try again with a 450D and a HEQ5 mount this time.

Anyway.. trying to inspire those on a budget, and that cant afford an APO or expensive CCD etc.
