Cygnus and Vulpeca
Last night wasn't brilliant. There was quite a bit of fast moving hazy cloud that kept getting in the way. I was quite keen to use my mini rig and test the the good advice kindly offered by GP in the New Forest. Up until now I have either used my fixed DSLR lenses unstopped or stepped up a couple of notches. The first delivers quite sloppy stars and the latter 'hairy' stars with multi diffraction spikes. So I followed advice and purchased some step down filter rings the smallest of which being 26mm dia. This increased the F Ratio from 1.4 to 1.9. Vignetting and coma were issues but addressable using corrective filters in AFF2. I am thinking it is worth 3d printing a lens hood with a 15mm dia aperture to deliver a F Ratio of 3.3.
