astroenthusiast 279 Posted April 10, 2022 The Knife Edge Galaxy or Splinter Galaxy is also designated NGC 5907. Home of the record-breaking pulsar, NGC 5907 X-1, in the year 2017. The pulsar's rotation period of 1.13 seconds, was determined by ESA's XMM-Newtown's European Photon Imaging camera. The Splinter Galaxy, according to NASA had a satellite galaxy that was gradually torn apart and merged with NGC 5907 over four billion years ago. NGC lies about 40 million light-years away in the constellation Draco. Link to comment
