astroenthusiast 279 Posted January 15, 2022 NGC 5731 - Home of Supernova Type II 2020 tlf - Where Astronomer's Observer Real-time Type II supernova Detonation. This was an attempt to capture the galaxy NGC 5731, where astronomers captured a type II supernova explosion in real-time. Supernova 2020tlf in the galaxy NGC 5731, located in the constellation Bootes, at 120 million light-years away. Bias and Flat calibrated frames were added and quite honestly, don't think they were needed because of the sensor on the ASI2600mm Pro camera, but there were added. I like to attempt this again with my 308mm RC telescope, to try and gain more image details, but in Bortle 6 skies, not sure that is possible. https://www.astrobin.com/a630hq/ Link to comment
