Magnus_e 350 Posted September 7, 2020 Well into galaxy season of 2020, I'm gathering some subs of the Pinwheel galaxy. Often in these kind of images, there are multiple fuzzies in the background. Most of these are far away galaxies. But where are they? Some of the ones in this image is easily visible, but some just looks like small fuzzy stars. So with the powerful image tool Pix Insight at my hands, I went about making a star chart of this image. After calibrating all the L filter subs, registering and stacking. I then inverted the image, normalized the background, gave it a light stretch and annotated it using PixInsight. Who would have guessed that there are 100+ galaxies visible in this relatively short integration of the Pinwheel? Hope you enjoy! Clear skies!
