Using M81 as a reference point to learn Astrophotography.

About 35 images stacked to make this one.

Tried a number of different exposures from 30 seconds to 2 mins. Forgot to check the histograms on the images until about halfway through…!

Windy night but 2 mins gave the best histogram at ISO 800. Imaged for about an hour but had to bin quite a few because of the wind which stretches my EQ 3/2 to the limit so probably about 35 minutes of exposure and not too many at 2 mins.

Will try M81 1600 ISO next time to see if I can get more signal or if generates too much noise.
