no, it's how for it 'sticks out' that matters. you get short and long versions for every size tube, a long x2barlow is the same as a short x2barlow.. the short one uses more lenses to give the same result.

what are you trying to focus on? a bright star is best, not a planet or moon. get focus on a star and everything else will be near perfect.
