used four identical layers in gimp2..each one screened then colourised magenta cyan yellow black...gave more control with contrast and shadows.resulted greyscale image pre stacked in registax 5 and captured with sharp cap...

Sounds like you get on with the processing well, the programs are so complicated if your unfamiliar with them, which I am tbh - still learning.

Got some good lunar shots so far, keep it up.

used all this type of stuff cos i was a printer for 15 years so messed around with artwork for jobs etc....gimp2 is a good programme but the interface is a bit clunky,,the best stuffs hidden...i just youtubed what i wanted to do and copied the tecniques i saw..pretty low level stuff though..plus i like pressing buttons to see what happens hehe....chris
