where is saturn?

Now i am newbie.

I know that it is in virgo, porrima and spica and round it`s orbit, but where is it?.

Have a good pair of bino`s and i cannot see saturn from them.

please help.

I living in west country and first thing virgo, if thats any help.:confused:

HI, usually saturn is below spica, saturn is a yellow blob, i have 15x70 binoe`s and can just make it out, at 8.30pm saturn is 12 degrees up and rising, use stellerium to track saturn and star constellations its free on inter net very good i use it alot.

I've been viewing at at 2300hrs (ish). I'm in north Essex so you might want adjust that a little bit.

Stellarium is great for this question. Punch in your location and use the time control to see when it is at it's highest in the sky.

I think there's a new moon (no moon) on the 3rd of May - that should help with viewing although I've used a filter to tone Saturn down. It's already quite bright.
