M42 to the Horsehead HA

Here's the HA image from the 1st of Jan, only an hour of data so not the best but considering M42 was less than 10 degrees from a sodium streetlight I'm pleased with it. I must do a couple of wideangle comparision shots with and without a HA filter including the streetlamp.

thats so gorgeous, sometimes i think that some nebulae look pretty awesome in black and white. what sort of scope did you use for that? xx

Thanks, it was taken with a 200mm camera lens so no telescope used. This is a wide field shot you could fit 12 moons down the length of the image.

Fabulous photo Mel - gotta get myself some decent filters - did you have much processing to do?
