been playing with my new scope, now then i have polar aligned it, used Capella has first reference star, dialed it in on ra and dec circles but.... when i try go to say Jupiter the dec is miles out!? it seems to be about 5 degrees out!!! the longitude scale is 60 degrees and i am at 53 degrees north, the scope is deffo on Polaris. Cheap mount or what? don't get much viewing time in!! i am trying to find other stuff with setting circles. Rosette nebular, last 2 nights!! still have not found it between Procyon and Betelgeuse 15 degrees diagonal apart!! tracked all way along nothing. scopes good for detail, but has small aperture feild of veiw. bring out the dob!!!

Mr Saddo, just allow for your 5 degrees when your trying to find something. It's really common for the scales to be out - even on some goto's. I used my Orion Astroview 100 mm Refractor 's setting circles to find my first deep sky objects: M3 and M5. I was over the moon (excuse the term) when I saw them - small fuzzies on the edge of my field of view. I could not see the Rosette with my 9.25 SCT last night. I could see the star cluster it lives in but the sky was too bright to see any of the cloud. Need to be in a dark sky for that one. Good luck!
