Been out this 6 am with heritage 130p

Well, i bought the heritage 130p flexi tube, and been out this morning, i had set my sights on venus and saturn, venus was easy, it was blinding, could not focus in on it properly, it was flaring really bad! i was thinking the scope was out of collimate? tried my 17x70 bins there were the same, any way took me a while to find saturn in the south west in virgo, i had the 20mm lens in just a orange blob! so i put the 10mm in and a little focus and....saturn i was well pleased!! quite bright and

Hi there all, sorry if i appear a bit thick on this question? But why is there no colour when viewing objects e.g Orions sword, pleidies, only see black and white, i have a heritage 130p reflector 25MM and 10mm ep only, do i need filters? or is it a case of bad light pollution? or other e.p sets? thanks yours paul.

heritage collimation woes

Hi,all been trying to collimate the heritage 130p what a night mare, i bought a cheshire collimator!, i used it other day to collimate the scope but....... few things you need to be aware of with a cheshire, 1. there`s a lot of play in the tube when put in the eye piece slot few turns of sellotape soon sorted that out has someone else had the same problem on here. 2 you need it a fair way out to centre the secondary mirror so you can see the mirror mount. 3 when you put it fully down to stop en

revelation eye piece kit

Well i splashed out on some new lenses, the revelation eye piece kit £127 from FLO, and a Cheshire collimator, and a sky watcher light pollution filter. Over all the lens seem well made an finished nice, had a quick go last night with them, the 9mm with Barlow rams up magnification but very hard to get good focus , and contrast very dim. The 32mm sliding barrel projection camera job fits Pliedies in well. Not quite worked out yet what you do with this . Probably the word camera is the operative

Full moon ,yellow last night

Last night around 11.43 after ISS passed, the moon was rising in the south, and was full and very big, and yellow, it did not take long for it to climb high in the sky. Looked very impressive.

What will the neighbours think?

Seeing has my wife likes to go to bed early! 9pm watch telly etc, i took the binoe`s up so i could see ISS coming over last night at 9.28, i was sat in bathroom with window wide open waiting with the sky masters binoe`s. must have looked a right perv hanging out there, ISS was good, low in sky very bright, wish i had scope out it was travelling quite slow, i reckon i could have tracked it with the heritage dob, for a bit more detail.
