Can i sync on a star near to where I'm imaging?

I cant find it on the handset

you mean a star alignment ? this where people use eqmod, so they have the flexibility to choose other stars other then those displayed on the synscan.

Nadeem, i mean when you get near your target you can sync to a star next to or very near it.

I remember having a Meade 2090 from cost co which could do this.

Im noticing as the evening progresses that the scopes alignment isnt as accurate. Having the syn to near star is a bonus., its a like a rolling calibration.

You should have a look at EQMOD, it's cheap and works the way Skywatcher should have designed it in the first place!

Yep! was September 2008 and I was doing early XMAS shopping.

My wife treated me to it (£115.00)... Ive spent £3K + since...

Until then I had never owned a telescope before...

press escape again for 2sec

press enter

Will syn and recentre using the synscan

As Merlin66 says above ^^^^ the sequence is;

Use Goto to slew to whatever it is you want to actually look at, or something close by.

When the mount is tracking press escape.

Then press and hold escape for a further 2sec.

The display now shows something like "Re-center on ****, press enter".

Use the arrow keys to center the object.

If you want to move quicker press the 2 key, then select a speed from 1 to 9 using the numeric keys, 9 is fastest, press enter.

When you are finished centering press enter.

Now use Goto to go to what you want to look at again.

Pointing Accuracy Enhancement (PAE). The mount controller records the amount of pointing inaccuracy and recalculates its model of the sky. The pointing accuracy of this part of the sky should now be improved.
