Solar Eclipse 2016

As much as I would love to attend the 2017 one it is really too far out to say with any certainty just what we may do, the 2016 one may be a more realistic option as we can use it as a stopover for our very long overdue trip to Australia.

Realistically I don't have high hopes of attending either despite my excitement for both.

I have plans for 2017 (August 21, near some friends of ours), but I am tempted by this one. I was recently asked if I would give a series of lectures in Indonesia so I might combine that trip with an eclipse excursion

Out of interest, what are your plans for 2017 Michael? There seem to be precious few trekking to the states for it but we're heading over (probably Jackson, WY as the destination - mainly due to it being in the line of totality and chances are will have good whether!) but I'm interested to hear input from others going? I was lucky this year at SGLX as we had great views in Hereford, UK but we had teams from Bristol to Scotland and not one had a clear sky!

Cheers

Will

I am not quite sure, but I think I will be visiting a friend in Colorado (near Denver). We also have friends in the Michigan and Indiana area, but I think we will visit them earlier.

Haha, conversely I have an ex-wife in Memphis, TN so I suspect sub-consciously thats pushing me towards the west coast lol.

This is a good resource for (stupidly) long range Eclipse stuff (http://home.cc.umanitoba.ca/~jander/tot2017/tse17intro.htm) just in case you haven't come across it before. Its thrown me a bit as I've always thought of the Washington/Oregon areas as a bit damp but the data says not.
