A Nice Little Venus

Fed up with getting nothing new for weeks, I saw Jupiter and Venus were nice about half an hour before dawn today.

Not wanting to set up the scope in my dressing gown, I just rattled off 66 frames with my bridge camera across a few different exposures. This is a stack of the best 25%, resampled by 200%.

Such a bright target makes it a great subject for beginners.

Also took about thirty frames of Jupiter, but I must have nudged the focus (unless Jupiter has tuirned into a doughnut).

Hopefully we will get a clear, still night sometime soon so I can get a higher res pic with the scope before it disappears!

A tricky target. I've only ever seen Venus as a super bright crescent. Tried twice to capture it over the years and failed miserably. Nice final shot.
