First light with Atik Infinity

Hi After weeks of storms I finally got out with the camera. The gear used is a humble Skywatcher 150p F5 on a Eq 3/2 goto mount. The camera had a Light pollution filter on and a there was a big old half moon in the sky along with my sodium street lights.

This is the first outing with this so the settings are probably not the best. The exposure was 30 sec and the software does the rest point and shoot! The details are in the software for its stacking. Oh this is M33 a dim beast at the best of times. Just to give an idea on how it gets beter just watching the screen. Have to say I like this camera!

Nice result and coma generally absent in those shots so the optics(?) cover the field well - the deepest in 9m exp. Any darks or flats used ?

Thanks folks lots to try out settings etc. It's addictive watching the picture get better and better as you watch. No darks or flats are used or needed, its just select the exposure tick the stack box and away it goes.

Could be the LP filter? However the good news is the 1.2 software has just been released today which has full colour control good timing

I wanted to buy ATIK 490EXM, but now , i think I will go for the Infinity.. not sure if the B&W or OSC version ..

But ! Very nice and impressive outcome for 1st light   !

The colour Martin. There are a number of YouTube videos using both cameras which should be helpful.

Does the Atik Infinity software work with other cameras such as the Titan or 414ex? I researched this a bit and thought it didn't. Would be great if it did.

Hi, as far as I'm aware the Infinity software is exclusive to the Infinity camera as both are designed and camera optimised for near live viewing.

Nice work Carl, image 3 is my fave.  The resolution on this camera is stunning to say the least and it just looks so simple to use.
