So, I was up at 5.30am this morning to make an early start on my trip across the Pennines to Manchester - well work does pay the bills...

Looking out of my kitchen I immediately noticed that Venus, Mars and Jupiter were in a fantastic position in an almost clear sky.

Needless to say I grabbed my Firstscope (saving up for a sw 200p) got the 4mm in and got a great view of Venus phase, Mars as a proper orange and Jupiter with 3 moons visible!!! Yes, I was later to work as expected!

You can't quite see Mars from my phone pic as I got in the car...
