happy-kat
As you are restricted to what you can take with your dobson (reflector on dobsonian mount) why not buy a good webcam for imaging planets. Or have you got an EQ mount or an EQ platform for your telescope?

miafey
I suppose the simplest set up would be a T adaptor for your camera and just mount it onto your Dob for planets?
jimbo747
I have got celestron 90slt scopeSent from my iPad using TapatalkWebcam still your best bet imo.A DSLR connected to your 90SLT (thats a Mak isn't it?) won't be impressive as 1) its a slow scope (I have the 127 slt big brother) and 2) its the wrong type of mount. Now a £5 xbox cam and a £5 adapter screwed in, perhaps with a barlow will give some nice closeups of the moon, and next year when the planets are better aligned you'll get some nice views of jupiter too. However, with my SLT mount I stuck a 1100d on a £20 dove tail bar with lens and connected it to the mount. At shorter focal lengths you can easily do a minute without star trailing and get some decent shots.
