Is this the ISS? Can anyone confirm? (photo)

Recommended Posts

Looking for some help,

Last night I was in Northumberland, UK taking shots of the Aurora around (not much luck due to fog), initially I though I had captured a shooting star until someone thought it might be ISS. Here is the image then a 100% crop, can anyone advise?

12mm lens, F2, 30secs.

The double trail and evenly spaced dots indicate that its likely a plane. I could be wrong though as the dots are evenly spaced but not identical. Are they stars between the trails.?

Is the iss being chased by a support craft right now. That would show 2 trails.

John, as mentioned, it's a lovely photo regardless :)

If you are trying for the iss, may I suggest http://www.heavens-above.com/. It will tell you when and where to look from your location and as it appears quite bright, you should (with a little practice) be able to catch it in an image. good luck but as others have said, I'd be more chuffed with the aurora :D
