Size9Hex
I had a quick look out before turning in last night, pointing my binoculars at Auriga, purely because it was in front of me. Quickly spotted 3 little blobs by pure chance, and doubled my progress in bagging the Messier objects. Quite a treat. Good views of the Hyades, Pleiades and Perseus too. As a beginner, it's nice to see the sky slowly changing as the seasons go by.To balance the luck, I woke early, keen to see Jupiter and Mercury for the first time. Clear forecast, clear skies out of the south facing window next to my bed when the alarm went off, so I trotted over to an east facing window and just saw a sea of cloud. Hey ho. I'll try again tomorrow morning for sure. Did anyone else see the 4 planet and moon line up this morning?
Roy Challen
Saw the Moon, Venus and Jupiter, the rest were obscured by clouds. I get up very early for work so hopefully tomorrow will be clear
Dave In Vermont
I finally broke my record for still being awake until shortly after Sunrise. I actually went to sleep at a 'reasonable' hour: 3:00am!So I awoke at 11:30am. Wow! Did I ever need that. I feel rested after all that sleep. And we were socked-in by clouds and light rain last night. But today all the clouds vanished except for some high sirrus. Maybe the Weather-Gods will be benevolent tonight.Perhaps you're catching a few bands & scraps of Hurricane Joaquin? But if you've got clouds, they should go away soon. After all, you get my weather later. So off to set up for the night.Awaiting the Locusts,Dave

I've timed more than a few hiking trips badly to coincide with the dregs of hurricanes arriving from over the Atlantic! Have a good one. Paul.
