Got up a few times in the night trying to get some pic's of this, not looking too hopeful but the clouds thinned a bit eventually.

No sign of Mercury

You can look on Stellarium for the best time.

OK .. That gives me an idea of what FL to expect. Yes, I've looked at Stelarium and worked out that the planets will be more or less due east and have been looking at various locations to try and get an interesting foreground.

I had to shoot out of the bedroom window, a few clouds add to the view.

Good capture, getting up in the middle of the night is par for the course at my age but I did catch a visual of it between the clouds very impressive.
