Altair GPCAM - First Light

For the cost of this camera, your Altair GPCAM appears to be doing what Video-Astrophotography was originally to do  that drew so many to embrace this form of imaging: Low prices on equipment that puts VAP into the reach of anyone (almost). It's nice to see a return to this all-but-discarded premise.

An all around BRAVO!

Got to agree..it's good seeing video on the video section. . Images taken from video would be great alongside the video it came from. .we as a whole are drifting to more imaging. .astrophotography with a video camera

Is There really any need to make comments like this?

The Video sub board is becoming an increasing source of reports from members about some of the comments being made and has led to quite a bit of discussion among the mods and admins.

You should really need to learn to "co-exist"...

Shirva  is only making an general observation not a complaint, or having a go at anyone or not  "co-existing".

I (try) do  astrophotography (some would say not and they are right  ) so have no beef with anyone.

:lipsrsealed:

By the way I like the Video and first light details thank you.

The point Peter is making is that We seem to be getting more reports pertaining to the va section than anywhere else, most because of differing opinions. It would appear that there are two camps in va and both need to accept each other as much for your sakes as ours.

Right so I'm stuck here between people I know and the SGL mods but threads in the VA section tend to go the same way, either off topic or a discussion of product 'A' vs product 'B'.

This is truly awful for newbie Video Astronomers, and makes SGL a very poor place for information.  I found this very frustrating when I was looking for information on starting up with VA.

Please remember you are discussing a product here that is of interest to would be Video Astronomers.

That's all folks!

Clear Video Astronomy skies to all.

Fondofchips.
