September 3, 2015: Spectacular proms both east and west

I just had a look from at the sun from outside the old hospital of the Knights of St John (now a conference centre) overlooking the Grand Harbour, and the views are just spectacular (both through the scope and without). The single prom on the western limb hasn't gone forth but has multiplied, and a second plasma tornado seems to have developed next to it. Thin strands of plasma are streaming from their northern tips. A huge set of proms has developed on the eastern limb, quite a bit north from the area on the disk showing all the twisting filaments. The main prom in that area is quite bright, and runs southwards at a small angle with the sun's limb. Several smaller proms are visible to the north of it. I will try to watch how this develops during the day (and coming days, if possible). I really wish I had my imaging kit, here, but I will have to content myself with the views.
