Hi! My first post here. After Veni Vedi I decided velcro would be the best option!

Been interested in stargazing for a long time. Dabbled with a Celestron Firstscope 114 for a while.  A house move killed any ground-breaking discovery, it also destroyed my 114. Dabbled with naked eye astronomy with the help of Stellarium, Colin's Guide. Finally took the plunge and ordered a  Nexstar 5 (should arrive in the next few days). Was wondering are are any Glasgow (or nearby) based groups who looking to be pestered by a newbie? Any help appreciated.

Hi and welcome to the forum. I'm not from your neck of the woods so can't recommend a group but there are many members from across the border who will no doubt take you in for a session or two!

Hello and a warm welcome to the SGL.

The local group is theAstronomical Society of Glasgow. We start up again this month. There is a society web page that you can google which will give you all the information.

Thank you! Kind sir. As always google is my friend. Found it by simply typing "astronomy" and "Glasgow". Is it usually open night? Was thinking of attending the event on 17/09/15, Reclaiming the Night?
