If the sky clears, this month I am hoping to observe some old favourites and

new targets. In little order,

Cygnus Veil. IC 1340 NGC 6992-5. Eastern.

NGC 6979-6974, mid. NGC 6960 Western.

A low field and a UHC filter will bring out these bright remnants.

Cygnus. NGC 6888 Crescent nebula.Gas cloud emitted by a bright Wolf -

Rayet star.

IC 5146 Cocoon nebula.Star birth nebula.

NGC 6826 "blinking "planetary nebula.

Auriga IC 417 and NGC 1931, four young new hot stars make this a

small star forming area, similar to the Orion Nebula.West of M36.

Perseus NGC 1582 o/c

NGC 1502 includes Σ484 triple. The planetary nebula NGC 1501

being nearby.

Algol, eclipsing variable. Eclipsing at 2d 20h 48m, about 5 hours to eclipse, can be observed for brightness changes.

Vulpecula NGC 6830 open clusters.

NGC 6823

Pegasus 51 Pegasi ( SAO 090896 ) first Sun like star to be found planet

with a giant planet, Bellephoron.

Kappa Pegasi ,optical double,separation of 14", b is .3".

Triangulum Iota 3.8" red and yellow. W.Herschel discovered these.

Pisces IC 1613 isolated +9 galaxy.

Alrescha (α) double,separated by 1.9 ".

Aquarius. Zeta Aquari , double separated by 1.7"

Cassiopeia NGC 185 NGC 147 galaxies of the local group.+10, +11.

NGC 457 ,phi ,one of the brightest stars known. X275,000 as

bright as the

Sun.there are hundreds of faint stars in this Owl cluster.

Cepheus. IC 10 small and distant at limit of local group.

Delta Cephei , first Cepheid variable.

NGC 188 oldest o/c, 1800lys from galactic plane. Faint and 12+

B.years old.

NGC 6946 galaxy +8 close spiral galaxy.

Aries Mesartim (γ) ,fine double.

Andromeda. NGC 752 open cluster with some challenging +12 stars.

Nick.

What a nice idea Nick!

I was just thinking about which targets could be seeing in September and then your post appeared!

Thanks very much for sharing it. I will give a try to the targets accessible with my telescope.

Looking forward to reading your reports this September!

Cheers, Piero

Nick, That's a long and nice list of targets

My main targets in September will be Mayall 2, California Neb and galaxies in summer triangles, Andromeda and Pegasus. Revisiting Cocoon will be fun too with new filters.

That's a good list of challenging objects. I tried for NGC6888 at a dark site and still struggled with it, though I only had 80mm aperture. Might have seen something with the O-III but I didn't make a note. That's remarkable information on the Owl Cluster. Thanks for sharing and good luck!

Nick you never fail to amaze with such enthusiastic planning.

I wish this scope of mine was finished as every time I see an observing thread you put on it just makes me wanna get out and peruse the objects on your lists.

Fantastic keep em coming.
