Connection between 1000D LCD and main board

Hi all,

I recently modded my 1000D. I removed the blue glass IR-filter and left IR/UV filter in place. I replaced the filter with nothing. All went well (the camera is completely controllable through PC and functions adequately) except for the LCD display functionality. The screen doesn't work anymore. I re-opened my casing and found out that the cable that connects the LCD to the main board is missing three tiny golden elements (of the 20 or 25 or so that make up the cable). If you look at the gold part of the cable, it's the three most left golden elements.

I was wondering whether this is normal for this connector cable, or whether this could be the cause of the malfunctioning of the LCD.

Thx

For when someone would have this same issue: I managed to fix it. Not the cable, but the connector for the cable (on the logic board) was broken. Replaced the logic board (bought a broken 1000d for parts), and now it works like a charm. :)
