There are certainly plenty of people using the mono model.  I can't recall anyone saying that they're using the colour version but I'm sure there'll be someone along shortly to prove me wrong :)

Yep.Use Fiecapture.

Get a SSD (even a 7200 HDD will not keep up with it). I tried a 7200 external USB3 HDD on the same controller and it couldn't keep up.

Don't use long USB3 leads. I used a 1metre lead plugged into a powered USB3 hub. THen a 3 metre lead back to the PC. A 3 metre USB3 lead plugged direct into the camera caused frame drop outs.

You might need to play around with the USBTraffic option in Firecapture if your disc subsytem is dropping frames. This thing is a bandwidth monster.
