I used to have an 11mm nagler, which was an excellent ep.  There was a time when I only really used my 11mm nag, 8mm radian and 2x barlow despite having several other eps. Eventually I sold the nag mainly for financial reasons, but also the eye relief was a little tight (which is why I kept the radian and not the nag).

I have a camera to sell which should fetch about £250 and keep itching for the nag again.  Thinking about the eye relief perhaps a 12mm delos would be  a good bet. Not so much fov, but a little more comfortable to use for those all night sessions.

I really like my 17.3. I consider it better than my two Radians now sold.

The Delos eyepieces seem to get virtually universal praise from all who have owned / used them.

I've only owned the 10mm in the Delos line but it was really nice

The main problem with going the Delos route is that most other eyepieces seem a bit second rate. I have the 8,12&17mm. They are built to last and see deeper than any other eyepieces that I have tried.

I have the 8 & 10, have always preferred the 10 for some reason, so don't use the 8 much.

I have an 8 and a 12 mm Delos. They are just about perfect.

However, I ordered a 6.5 mm Morpheus instead of the buying the 6 mm Delos.

I have the 10mm and 14mm Delos and they really are gorgeous eyepieces. They're like using widefield orthos, with all the quality, sharpness and resolution but spread across 72º rather than a mere 40º field of view. Plug into that generous eye relief and a tasty ergonomic feel and you really can't go wrong

A couple of years back I wrote a short review of the 10mm which you may find of interest. Even after all this time the opinion and sentiments have not changed. However, it's not all good news, for as noted in that review the Delos does carry its own draw backs:

"There is one significant problem with an eyepiece like the Delos. Once used you cannot ever go back to the night before you owned one, because you were a different person then, and like Alice, you’ve gone through a looking glass and have entered a new world of visual wonder, opened up a celestial window onto the universe from which you can never return."

I have the 17.3 and it is an excellent performer. I also have 5 and 8mm LVW's which are not too far behind the Delos in any respect except price.

It sounds like the Delos is the way to go for me.  I thought I would never sell my Radian - but that might change having read your responses. I would rather sell off a load of eps and be left with a few really good ones that are comfortable to use and optically as good as anything available.

Ruud - the Moprpheus does look very interesting, and I have considered it.

This just makes it easier. There's nothing worse than having your mind almost made up, then reading lots of conflicting views.

How does the size and weight of the 8mm Delos compare to the 8mm Radian? I barlow my Radian with my dob sometimes but not sure I would barlow anything that's much bigger or heavier. I do have a counterweight that I can use if need be for low angles.

The Delos is quite a bit longer, but not very heavy. It is heavier than the lightweight Radian, but nowhere near as heavy as the Nagler T4s I have

I was surprised that the Delos 10mm was very nearly the same weight and size as my 8mm Ethos !. The 8mm Delos is heavier than the 8mm Ethos.

Both a lot larger and heavier than my Radians.

The Delos have been nicknamed "turkey legs" in the USA

If I was looking for a replacement for my Radians I'd be hoping that there are 4mm and 3mm Delite's in due course.

And they seem to be excellent with just about any telescope (apart from solar - they are no good with my small Lunt), with any focal ratio, for any target.

I would not say the Delos range is second best, far from it but I spent ages comparing Delos and Ethos and I really could not see the point in having doubles of almost all the f/l's, the only two I didn't have were the short 4.7mm and 3.7mm, however it took a good kick up the pants for me to see this. As I just about bought the whole Ethos range new I decided to stick with that for the Dob, though judging by the amount of wanted adverts i don't see I would have had too much trouble getting rid of the more costly ones.

The Delos range as I see it are as good as anything on the market, on some targets I did find the 3.5mm and 5mm XW Pentax a hairs' splitend infront but it is so close.  In my books 12mm or 14mm would be better served by the Delos range as I rate them slightly above the Pentax (14mm) and the same as the Ethos but with a smaller FOV.

I am sure that you will enjoy the 12mm I did but now settle for either 10mm or 13mm with a bigger field.

My high power eps are going to have to wait for a while to be replaced - Delites in the 4mm to 6mm range would probably be top of the list.
