As the title states im looking for a widefield lens for my Cannon 60da to do some widefield Ap such as landscape/milkyway images.

Any recommended lenses people are using with good results would be useful.

Budget would be around £300/350

Thanks

You would do no better than invest in a SW Star Adventurer, i run 3 minute subs with nice round stars using a 600D and a 100mm F2 set at F2.8 for DOF, a fast prime would be what you need size i wouldn't like to say but F2 or less....There are some thread  about the Star Adventurer which include images taken with various lens

Anyone had any dealings with Expedite Electronics. They show à considérable saving on the Samyang 10mm f2.8 but ive never come across them before.

Thanks

Kenny

They could be the same company as EGlobal there terms ect all seem the same, there gray imports o if your not to worried about no warranty the lens are a lot cheaper you can get a warrenty thats limited and will add to the cost, Eglobal i have dealt with and never had any trouble, they supply tracking info, the price you see is what you pay no UK taxes to be added.....

You may get a import duty tax bill as over the price for no duty.

Don't see why it can be said no UK taxes yes no VAT but you could get import value tax bill.

I have used EGlobal much the same if not the same company, the price shown on there web site is the price you pay, no extra's like import tax ect, in my case i think 4 items a couple of which exceeded £500, i think its something to do with being a UK registered company, but that's just a guess, somebody will no doubt come along with the real answer.....

Well i'm glad to say my new Samyang 10mm lens arrived from Expedite Electronics yesterday,it took 7 working days to arrive from placing order, not bad considering it may have come from Hong Kong.

No import duty fees added so id now feel confident with ordering through them again, they also had a Uk hotline to ring which i spoke to a very pleasant lady who was very helpful with my queries.

Congrats on the lens. 10mm gives a tremendous field of view. The only problem I've found at 10mm is sometimes you can get unwanted horizon light. I've got a 10-24 Tamron and sometimes it's advantageous to "zoom" to 14 or 15mm. But.... it's not a prime, swings and roundabouts.

And 2.8 is fast.
