Is K3CCD Tools worth 50 dollars US?

Howdy all;

I have a new (to me) 9 1/4 inch SCT and am planning to do some lunar and planetary imaging.  I have some mediocre results from years ago with a Phillips ToUCam.  I think that I used K3CCD Tools to capture and process those images from years in the past.  It was free then, but it is now 50 dollars and was wondering if I can get a quick review from someone.

I also have a Canon T2i DSLR camera and the Canon software.  Would I do better using that set up?  Right now, I just have very little money to spend.

Thanks for your input;

Steve Coe

I too would consider not using K3CCD (nothing wrong with it but you have stated that you have little money right now) and make better use of what you already have for free. Your Canon DSLR camera could be used to capture some great videos for converting into high quality still images using Registax software to stack the videos as mentioned above but the secret is to use EOS Movie Record a free but excellent capture program that will work with your Canon T2i DSLR (also known as a Canon 550D).
