My attempt at photographing Milky Way

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Not so long ago I have joined the forum as a decided to get into a new hobby. Bought myself a second had DSLR with a kit lens and a binoculars. So, few weeks ago i mounted the DSLR on a tripod waited for the street lights to turn off ad 1 am and started shooting. first few images ware messed up as I could not get the kit lens to focus to infinity. Right, lesson learned, done my homework, few days latter decided t try again. I was lucky enough to get descent clear sky.

Couple of hours of trying to focus and finally got dark enough so i pointed the camera above the horizon in my back garden and started shooting. Eventually got a lot of photos at different ISO settings and exposure times. Selected 5 shoots at 6400 ISO and 20s exposure and 5 at 3200 ISO with 20s exposure too. Stacked them in DSS and edited them  a lot in Lightroom and corrected the colors in Photoshop. Here are the final results plus what it looked before.

let me know your thoughts on the photos, all criticism is more than welcome.

thanks,
