Shelster1973
Have been following a few new tutorials on PI and re-visited some old data I have of M86.Am not 100% sure the darks and flats I used are actually related....probably not looking at the results so far.Below is JPG of where I am at present....lights have been calibrated, debayered, colour calibrated, registered and integrated. Next steps are to run some DBE and other stuff on it...Have the master FIT if anyone is interested in seeing what is in there......here is the link for it https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bxl8qhvlMDf1OXJpSVRBX0NaajA/view?usp=sharing
Shelster1973
It appears I am a complete numpty...the file linked in the OP is in fact the JPEG again.Have got the proper link here..... https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bxl8qhvlMDf1NDZZYUtmZHN1Qnc/view?usp=sharing...but be warned..it's a whopper...708 MB in totalIf you prefer have zipped it for a slightly reduced 566 MB here ....... https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bxl8qhvlMDf1NDh4Nkg0ZGlZMlE/view?usp=sharingThese FIT files are crazy large........ Thalestris24
HiLooks like you need different flats? How come files are so big? Are you saving them as 64 bit??Should be a nice pic when sorted Louise
Shelster1973
Yeah...these were flats that were saved on my HDD but was not sure when they were taken or with what lights, so used them on the freak chance they may be right.....worth a shot, but they are not correct, agreed.Don't recal saving them as 64bit...am fairly sure they are 32 bit, but was 'drizzled' so that may account for it being huge.....glas I have a 3 TB HDD in there, although that may vanish quickly at this rate. Ahh drizzling + 32bit = huge!! TBH I think 16-bit is adequate - that gives 65536 levels. Can't think why anyone would want 4294967296 levels! My view is that things generally only get displayed on a standard colour monitor screen which has a colour matrix and limited resolution. Others may see things differently...Louise
Shelster1973
But.........more is better......... I have printed out a few of my pictures so like having more levels...plus HDD is plentiful, so dont have to worry about running out of storage just yet
