Dom1961
Two questions:1. Has anybody used the 2" to 1.25" revelation self centering adapter. I'd it any good? Also are there any benefits to using this over the normal adapter. Does it stop you being able to focus on some eps due to the eyepiece being held withing the 2" part not further out. 2. For visual observing, will a lacerta micro focuser upgrade kit be useful in any way. And is it well made/does it work well? Thanks! Dom
niallk
Hi Dom,Can't comment re Q1, but the Lacerta 10:1 focusser upgrade is, along with getting a Telrad, the best upgrade I made to my SW 250px. It is outstanding value for money, mechanically beautifully made - very solid; installation was a doddle. Very nice in use at the EP - so smooth and light to the touch. I found it to be a dramatic improvement. I'd say go for it!Best of luck-Niall
jam1e1
Hi for me on q1 I really liked them as prefer the clamping that doesn't mark the ep's, got both the 1.25 and 2", though since main scope is 10" newt and I use a paracorr, this has similar adapters so don't use them now apart from collocation. Didn't notice any focus issues
ronl
The Lacerta upgrade is worth every penny, makes focusing so much easier, and easy to fit.
brantuk
+1 for the lacerta d/s focuser upgrade - I have it on my 200P and it works very well for half the cost of total focuser replacement.I've not used the Sca but I know one or two folks who have it and never yet heard a complaint. It may well help with some eyepiece types/sizes. Hth
Dom1961
Okay thanks for your help! Also will a dew shield be beneficial? I know they are effective for cassegrains as the corrector plate dews up, but is it beneficial for newts? At the moment I've got a basic ep set built up, with a OIII coming for my birthday. So now I'm upgrading little bits of the scope which may make it better and more user friendly

However I don't use it when in my darkish back garden. Never have dew problems in my solid tube 250px... - but I do need to worry about dew prevention with the secondary in my 15" truss dob!
