DIY solar finder scope

Just thought I'd share my DIY solar finder "scope". I was on a telescope that I bought 2nd hand and subsequently upgraded. I took out the lenses at either end so there's no glass in it at all. Cut up an old credit card to fit in where the front element originally sat. I covered that with tin foil (more for asthetics than anything else) and glued it in after I had drilled a small hole right in the centre. I then cut out the base of a translucent yougert pot, penned on a central cross and glued that to the back of the tube. It sits in the original holder bracket so is fully adjustable and you don't have to look anywhere near the sun to centre it in the scope. The finder scope had been modded by its previous owner (the rear element removed and a 20mm ep put in its place-don't know why) so wasn't much use to me. So for zero cost and about half an hours time, I ended up with a very workable accessory.

I had taken a couple of photos but can't seem to upload them from my iPhone
