EQASCOM won't shut down

I feel sure I must be missing something obvious here, but I can't see what at the moment.

I've finally got around to installing all the astro bits and pieces on my new-to-me laptop running 64-bit Win7.  EQASCOM (version 127l) appears to work just fine, but when I run the script to kill it, the application appears to shut down ok but then restarts itself and keeps doing so whenever I try to shut it down.

Anyone have any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Can't deny that.  I don't do it out of choice

I'm sure it hasn't happened on my older (also Win7 64-bit) laptop though.  That however is destined to become a shared family resource now my children have got a little older and aren't able to share (fair enough when they're both trying to do web-based homework, really).

What exactly are you doing to "close" EQMOD?  If you try to close EQMOD itself then it will not die!  If you close the controlling program (in my own case Cartes du Ciel) then that will force EQMOD to close.  EQMOD is not a stand alone program in the usual sense.

In the scripts folder of EQASCOM (from the start menu, say) there's a "kill eqmod" script (or similar).  That's what I'm using.

Does it keep flashing up on screen? This normally happens if you start EQASCOM directly, rather from the EQASCOM toolbox, and if there is no EQDIR lead connected to the PC. It keeps trying to establish a connection.

The way that I shut down is to Park, then disconnect from any other software that is suing EQMOD (CdC, SGPro, for example) then hit Disconnect in the EQASCOM toolbox.
