July 31, 2015: Loch Ness calling; lovely proms on the eastern limb

Recommended Posts

Lightning reactions with the SolarMax 60mm allowed me to catch a brief crack in the clouds and observe some lovely detail on the disk and around the limb. Two BIG bright plage areas showed up east and west. The eastern one was near a large sunspot. The eastern limb showed a huge array of proms. Some good ARs are headed our way, it seems. Seeing was really good in that little gap I got, much better than what I got at home.
