I have just ordered an SW EQ5 mount and would like to control it from my Laptop running Windows 7, what is the best software to do this?  I have Stellarium already installed would this work?

You will software wise Ascom, EQMod, and Stellarium Scope to run Stellarium, Cartes de Ceil only requires Ascom and EQMod, there is also on the hardware side EQDir Adapter

Stellarium can control your mount directly through its own mount drivers (no additional software required) .
