A short Saturn session

I set up in a different spot out the front tonight with the 16" with the sole purpose of looking at the planet. I hadn't looked at it properly with the newer scope so even though it was still fairly light, its a nice balmy evening to be outside.

I started at 120x, thought it looked quite good so stepped up to 159, then quickly back again to my 17.3mm, which I stayed with for about half an hour. Saturn was bright, and fairly sharp, I could just about make out the casini division, and a bit of banding around the planet. I was pleased however to see what I thought at first were 5 moons.

I could clearly see Rhea & Tethys to the right and (whoops haven't finished the post) Dione to the left. Titan was clear bottom left as well. My 5th moon must have been the star between Hyperion and lapetus which I deduced from the angle of the formation.

Anyway I'll give up on the post now as it seemed to want to upload before I was ready, going out again now to see if the clouds passed over.
