Praktica Bayonet lenses

Recommended Posts

My local camera shop has recently got a few of these old carl zeiss lenses in and they seem pretty decent optically.

I was just wondering if anyone had used these and can recommend? I'll be doing widefield on a modded dslr.

The ones I'm thinking of getting are a 135mm 3.5

28mm 2.8

Thanks

I can't help you with the choice between those but old fixed lenses can be remarkably good value. Optically they are good but because they don't support modern camera features such as auto focus, IS etc they can be comparitively cheap. As long as you can mate it up to your DSLR I'd get them.

Yes the 135 was a cracker ... but you'll need a very shallow adapter that allows it to focus to infinity , the first one I tried just wouldn't get there.

Thanks Steve, I've ordered one off flea bay which claims it can focus to infinity but I have my doubts.

Now I just need some nice weather and...... Some darkness!

Sometimes I wonder why I do this to myself haha
