Is there ever a complete planet alignment

One other factor is the moon is a satellite not a "planet" therefore it does not get included into a planetary alignment.

Orbits are too complex I suspect to achieve an alignment, they are not circular to start with and have therefore different "centre's" for their orbits.

As the orbit is elliptical there is the aspect that the velocity of each planet varies around it's orbit. I think we are presently at our furthest from the sun and therefore orbiting at the slowest, sometime in January is our closest and so fastest. All the others do the same.

It would be nice but I think you'll be waiting a long time to see this - something like several hundred million years (assuming it's at all possible - which I also don't know). Films like Tomb Raider don't do us any favours astronomically speaking.

However - there are a few conjunctions throughout ones lifetime where Earth is in line with two planets passing in front or behind each other. We also get transits - I've personally seen Venus transit the sun twice and Saturn transit behind the moon. There's also been recent the Venus/Jupiter conjunction where they came pretty close to "in line" with Earth - and one or two eclipses in my lifetime where Earth, moon and sun are in line.

But otherwise it's just wishful thinking really - oh and were it to happen - it doesn't signal success in battle, wodes of March, nor any kind of witchcraft or luck signalling how to proceed in life. :)

[More?] interestingly, I remember seeing (in a certain Astronomy Magazine) a whole set of

predictions re. two-planet occultations. Of course, these, in the (very!) FAR future. But I was

surprised. "Nothing is impossible"? lol. But I note I wouldn't be around to see any though!  ;)

Is there ever a complete planet alignment and if so is it true every complete planet alignment it's a full moon, just a qwick question, thanks for reading take care

As I understand it in an alignment, the planets can be on opposite sides of the sun, just in a line. Could increase the odds.

I didn't say moon was a planet buddy, I said is there a full moon on the complete planet alignment if you read it right, and was last planet alignment on November 1st - 3rd in 1980.

Book called Jupiter effect is a good read, just because a man is not employed by govement and named scientist don't mean he knows nothing, man just accepts what scientist tell us as facts.

I ask questions on here and not all but half the people on here reply with sarcastic answers all time, its them effect by the Luna who are sarcastic Luna-tics leaving stupid replys.

Only asked if there was ever complete planet alignment and get people get mad for some reason, anyways out of here

The authors of that book predicted that a planetary alignment would create a number of catastrophes,  including a great earthquake on the San Andreas Fault on March 10 1982 that would wipe out Los Angeles. Non of the predicted catastrophes occurred. One year after the non-doomsday event, Gribbin and Plagemann published The Jupiter Effect Reconsidered. It was also a best-seller. Later on one of the authors of the book John Gribbin Phd admitted about his "Jupiter Effect theory" "I don't like it, and I'm sorry I had anything to do with it" The moral is .. don't believe everything you read.
