I see again with clear nights forecast in my area it's almost a full moon.

Well my son and I decided rather than try and fail for some DSO bits why not image the moon.

Our problem is we want to use our QHY5 camera on the main scope but cannot seem to find any stable image software on the dreaded Windows 8.1 can anyone help please would hate to loose an opportunity to have a go at the beauty. Have tried AMCAP,SharpCap,firecapture and APT but they either don't connect or fall over after a few moments. The camera works fine on PHD guiding for hours and even showing the faint fuzzies we are chasing on a 9x50 finderscope any help or suggestions would be appreciated

Thanks

Gareth.

I have no problem running Sharpcap on either of my W8.1 machines.

Same with me, running Sharpcap with 8.1 and via boot camp with no issues of crashing. I remember it being a pain to setup though originally with all the drivers and Ascom and what not. Also using QHY5.
