IU have one of the Maplins items, normal 12v connector at one end and the circular things at the other, it can be switched down to 1.5volt.

The Maplins item is: L17AR

Presently £10, says usually £15, useful item.

If they have one locally I may actually get a second, mainly because having one is fine and all I need, but occasionally it goes walk about.

I use these....

...to switch down from 12V to more or less anything.  There really cheap, small and can fit inside any little project box you can get form maplin etc.

You can get even smaller ones....

Obviously you can buy them in smaller quantities, and they cost a bit more, but still cheeeeeeeap!

Work brilliantly!
