July 1, 2015, 15:57 CEST: prom lifting off now!

Recommended Posts

Thanks Michael.  I first looked today at 7.15am.  I wrote in my notes at the time that it had a 'narrow base' and I wandered if it would lift off.  I also thought it had a filaprom element at the time - though the seeing was not good  and I was using my PST at fairly low power.

I next looked at 11.40am and noted it looked much fainter and there were several free floating elements of it that had become detached.

At 2.37pm the prom was much diminished - very small, again with an equally small filaprom element.  At this time I could only see one small detached element which was a rather wavy short line of material 'hovering' above the small bit of prom still in the surface.

Nice to see a bit of action, though from my first view this morning I was hoping it might have been more spectacular.
