I had to start a new solar thread for the hottest day of the year

There are some lovely bright proms in the 12 O'clock position and rather a large one In the 3 O'clock position.

If you have a zoom lens close ups of the northern proms are nothing short of fantastic...stunning, they are so bright

The surface detail is fantastic all over the disc but there are some lovely scrolls around and about spot 2373and the closest point of the limb to it. the granulation is swirling around all over the place.

Back off out I go  I just came in for my second litre of tonic water.

Nice report, Shaun, I did the cooler morning shift, though I did have to take my jacket off as it warmed up   The prom near the big AR looked lively and I liked the solo spot a little lower down. Some interesting activity more central, lower down, despite no spots.

When I saw the forecast Luke I thought to myself  that it would be cloudy by the time I got home from work   How wrong was I, it made a great change and it was still very hot around 5:30.

I am going to get up early tomorrow and get a session in before I go to work

I was surprised how hot it was this evening, Shaun! 30 degrees at 6:30pm!

I can only do morning shifts during the week at the mo, no lovely solar evenings, so I am up as soon as the woodpecker taps at my window
