I need help in identifying what I saw. This is my representation attached at 35x. I was in Hercules between zeta and eta Herculis. Might just be my first DSO

Yup. Thar she blows!

Congratulations too on your first :)

M13 has been looking mighty fine here lately - seems clearer than last year....oh wait, I moved from a 4.5" newt to a 6", lol. Or I've just got a bit better as an observer :)

Which DSO is next in your sights?

Thanks. I was viewing this in a 3" newt, it was very very faint. It took me about 30 hovers between two stars to see it just as i was about to give up  , so I'm thinking AP 6 is probably the maximum I can see with this scope. M31 and M52 seem to be the next suitable ones.

If anything is wrong or missing blame Stratis, they just captured it here: http://stargazerslounge.com/topic/247328-my-first-real-deep-sky-so-happy/

I can definitely see what I saw, orientated a bit differently!
