Lovejoy still a fine object...

Still looks great in my 130mm heritage dob..fuzz inside a triangle of stars tonight..

I could also pick it up with averted vision in my 50mm bins so it must be about mag 9/10..

Now over 2au away above the plane of the rotating planets moving away at 60000 mph..

It's been a couple of weeks since I had a look. But was still looking good a couple of degrees from Polaris (even I could manage the star hop!)

Keep taking pic's of it and thinking that's the last one but it's still there so will have to take another one tonight.

I found the comet last night and compared it to NGC 5879, which was about a degree away, in brightness. Still visible with a 200mm f5.

You can find it in Stellarium but need a BIG scope to see it at mag16, more chance seeing of Comet 141P/ Machholz in Auriga also to be found in Stellarium.

I used TheSkyLive.com to get the coordinates and punched them in the hand controller and the comet was centered in the field. Then plotted the position on the revelant page in Uranometria 2000 which told me it was quite close to NGC 5879 and NGC 5907, then hopped over to them to verify the comet was actually the comet.

You can add comets to stellarium. There is a plugin and a post on this site on how to do it.
