post-42932-0-01592100-1433013126.pngI've just tried a few things to improve my initial processing attempts such as larger alignment points,no drizzle, and less aggressive wavelets and it seems to have paid off. This run was originally @  20gb 31800 frame sequence. In PIPP I carried out a quality estimation using 24% of the frames and also enabled quality weighting which,if i understand it correctly ,adds the best frames back into the avi (?), Anyway, it seems to have improved the s/n noticeably,as well as colour saturation.Used 100 sized alignment points in AS!2, and stacked 100% of the PIPP frames. Once loaded into R6,did an auto RGB align, and mild default wavelets using the bottom 3 sliders. Loaded the TIFF into AstraImage3 and carried out max entropy deconvolution with gaussian point-spread @ 1.4,iterations 7.Carried this out twice, then adjusted the gamma from 1.0 to 0.9. Loaded into PS Elements, used levels to darken the background, and increased the saturation of yellow, red, and green slightly.Carried out a despeckle which took the edge off the graininess without blurring too much.  Finally removed colour cast by clicking the dropper onto the B Ring, which became nice and white.
A big thanks to Stuart (Space Cowboy) for the advice.

You are certainly getting the maximum detail out for this low elevation Phil!

Personally I would maybe back off a little on the sharpening to produce a smoother image but its all personal taste whether we go for maximum detail or a more natural look.

Colour noise reduction is worth a look in image analyser as it will clean up any false colour ie blue in the rings. If you've not tried analyser here is a link
