Focal reducer with MN190 and EOS 20Da?

Recommended Posts

I'm been using my EOS 20Da at prime focus of my MN190 with some success.  Some vignetting at the corners of the pictures, but nothing that a few flats won't fix, and in most cases I don't even notice it.

I'm considering whether to get a 0.5 reducer to stick on the front on the nosepiece of the 2" T2 adapter to give me a wider FOV, but wonder if that will result in massive vignetting problems?

Has any got experience of doing this sort of thing?

Thanks

Dave

I'm no expert but I'd be wary of sticking anything other than a filter in the imaging train of a 190 MN, especial something as drastic as a 0.5 reducer.

If you need about 500mm FL at f/5.something then a short fast triplet Apo would be the way to go, or possibly something like the WO Star71 imaging quintuplet.
