what's best thing to observe

Recommended Posts

Jupiter, once you see a planet, you're hooked. (You need a scope to see the bands and spot, but with large binos you can see a disc and some moons slightly). Once you see the clouds on Jupiter, its a mind blower.

also Andromeda, Orion are easy with large Binoculars.

Easy targets

Comets too, when possible and meteor showers.

It is also easy to photograph these with a 50mm lens (maybe not Jupiter though, but you can capture a few white dots for the planet and some moons).

There are so many wonderful things to observe. I am mainly a deep sky observer rather the moon and planets. M42 the Orion Nebula is great in the autumn/winter. We have the veil nebula visible over the next few months. From a dark sky site that is truly beautiful.
