Hello everyone,

First I must say a belated thanks to all at SGL for all the useful info.

I am now the proud owner of a Skywatcher Heritage 130p Dob.

Why? I wanted a simple setup and portability.

The most important piece of info I worked from was - your best telescope is the one you use.

Already impressed by views of Jupiter + moons.

Cannot wait to see Saturn.

Just read great piece by the Warthog about essential ep's.

Looking forward to lots of clear skies.

Hi Golfey and welcome to the forum. Always useful when buying a new scope to order some of that "anti cloud spray" - I trust you got a couple of spray cans?

Wishing you clear skies and hope you enjoy the forum.

Many thanks to all of you that have said "welcome", much appreciated.

I am looking forward to participating in the forums, initially much reading and gaing information.

One day I hope to contribute something useful, perhaps starting with a review of my Heritage 130p.

Cheers

Golfey

Welcome aboard! when i first came her a couple weeks back, all i knew was i wanted to get my messier hunt completed i started years ago with a pair of binos and andromida. I did not know there were so many choices in scopes, ep's, filters, cameras, techniques. though one thing is for certain we all hae the same distaste for clouds
